For decades, the world has celebrated creative thinkers who contribute to our evolving and advancing universe. Writers receive Pulitzers, cinematic artists earn Academy Awards, and musicians are awarded Grammys. Even the achievements of innovative minds in the sciences are recognized with Nobel Prizes.

But what about the visionaries who dare to paint humanity in all its beautiful shades? The artists whose brushstrokes, performances, and creations weave diversity into the fabric of culture? Their work reshapes how we see each other, yet their names too often remain in the shadows.

These creators rarely chase the spotlight. They don’t seek glory. They create out of conviction — driven by ideals bigger than themselves. Still, their impact is undeniable. Their courage changes the way we live and understand one another.

It’s time the world saw them.

This is why The Skin Tones Project created the Humanist Award for the Arts — a recognition long overdue. This award honors those rare artists who move humanity forward, whose work ignites empathy, unity, and evolution itself. And this is only the beginning. With every new honoree, the Humanist Award will grow in power and prestige, shining light on the artists who deserve it most: the bold, the unifying, the truly human.

Join The Skin Tones Project to celebrate the gift of evolution — the diversity of our beautiful skin tones, shades, nuances, and complexions. Subscribe today and stay up-to-date on the dates of our next award presentation.

Nominees for 2026: Lucian Freud, Scott Burdick, and Ron Sherr.

The Skin Tones Project will Honor
LUCIAN FREUD and RONALD SHERR
with the Humanist Award for the Arts

In 2025 The Skin Tones Project will bestow The Humanist Award for the Arts Medals on RONALD SHERR and LUCIEN FREUD, two distinguished humanist painters whose love of skin tones has furthered the gift of evolution and helped to advance humanity. Mr. Sherr and Mr. Freud both have created beautiful works of art that celebrate diverse skin tones.

Each year, we will award this prestigious honor to an artist, institution, business enterprise, or professional whose timeless, diversified creations transcend art and help promote or encourage Oneness in All. Specifically, we plan to highlight artists whose oeuvre represents diversity in humanity, encourages the love of humankind, celebrates the gift of evolution, and promotes peace and harmony. It will be a creative prize equivalent to the Pulitzer and Nobel prizes for literature and science.

The Skin Tones Project invites recommendations of deserving candidates from museums, galleries, and artists in anticipation of the 2026 award. We are open to learning more about artists who celebrate diversity in their work.
